Why Didn't I Get My Coparent’s Message?

Having trouble receiving messages from your coparent through the BestInterest app? Here are some possible reasons why a message might not be delivered and steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.

Check the Destination Number

Confirm that the message was sent to the correct number provided to you by BestInterest. In the app, go to Settings > Invite Your Coparent and confirm the phone number is the number they are sending you messages to.

Check Your Coparent’s Number

The phone number you entered for your coparent in the app must be correct. Please check it by going to Settings > Coparent Profile. Check to make sure the phone number you entered matches your coparent’s phone number

Allow Sufficient Time for Delivery

SMS delivery and our AI processing engine are usually quick, but occasionally, it might take a little longer. We recommend waiting at least 5 minutes for the message to arrive. Network delays, especially during peak times, can cause short delays in message delivery.

Check for Network Issues

Sometimes, messages might not be delivered due to network issues either on the sender’s or the receiver’s end. It’s a good idea to check if there are any known service outages reported by your mobile carrier or if there are signal issues in your area.

Ensure the App is Updated

Using an outdated version of the BestInterest app can sometimes cause issues with receiving messages. Make sure that both you and your coparent are using the latest version of the app (if you are both using the app). Updates often include bug fixes and improvements that could resolve messaging problems.

Review Message Filtering Settings

BestInterest has features designed to filter out unnecessary or potentially harmful messages to keep communication healthy and focused on child-related matters. However, the app will still show you when a message has been received, even if there was no child-focused content.

Restart Your Device

If messages are still not coming through, a simple restart of your device can help. This can reset your network connection and clear up any minor software glitches that may be affecting message delivery.
