Message Review Settings

These settings help inform our Coparenting Coach and AI Filter to ensure we respond properly to messages.

Communication Dynamic

A High Conflict coparenting relationship is one with abusive, aggressive, or otherwise challenging communication from one or both parties, oftentimes involving the courts. In situations of high conflict communication, we take extra care to ensure that your coparent's messages are reviewed appropriately for this style. A Collaborative communication dynamic is less strict and structured. The Coparent Coach will also use this information to provide better feedback for your unique situation.

Parenting Plan Style

By default, we assume a "collaborative" parenting plan is in place, which is most typical. Even if your actual relationship is marked by high conflict, most coparents have collaborative-style parenting plans. If you have a parallel parenting plan, this helps improve the advice we give for your specific situation. If you don't have a parenting plan, or you don't know if you have a parallel parenting plan, leave this set to the default.

Preferred Communication Style

By default, we use a hybrid approach to coparent communication which uses a combination of techniques from NVC, JADE, Grey Rock, and more. Depending on your coparent's personality and relational style (higher conflict), you might find that they respond better to more specific approach. This setting will affect both the Coparenting Coach suggestions, as well as your outgoing message review. In Grey Rock, we will encourage less frequent and more succinct communication, which is ideal for situations where your coparent has a conflict-seeking personality type.
