How do I use the app with my co-parent if they don't want to use it?
Even if your co-parent is not ready or willing to join the BestInterest app, you can still utilize it effectively through our Solo Mode. Here’s how Solo Mode works and how it can help you manage your coparenting responsibilities independently:
What is Solo Mode?
Solo Mode allows you to use the BestInterest app independently of your co-parent. You can benefit from the message coaching and message filtering features of the app, and keep track of all communication in one place, even if your co-parent does not participate.
How it works:
When you activate Solo Mode, BestInterest provides you with a new phone number that you can give to your coparent. All messages your coparent sends to this number will be reviewed and filtered and then displayed in the BestInterest app. When you send messages in the app, they will be sent as text messages to your coparent. Your coparent doesn't even need to know that you are using the app.
Benefits of Using Solo Mode:
Message Filtering: All messages your coparent sends will be filtered before the message is seen by you, ensuring you are always protected from inflammatory or triggering communication.
Message Coaching: We guide you into more constructive and child-focused messaging, ensuring that your messages are calm and clear and won't come back to haunt you in court.
Privacy: Using a separate number for coparenting keeps your personal contact information private and segregates your coparenting communications from your personal life.
Document Everything: All communications sent to the new number—texts, calls, and voicemails—are automatically documented and stored securely in the BestInterest app. This record can be invaluable for legal purposes or resolving disputes.
Manage on Your Terms: With Solo Mode, you can manage and document your coparenting responsibilities at your pace and on your terms, regardless of your co-parent’s participation.
How to Use Solo Mode Effectively:
Communicate Through the App: Continue to use the dedicated number for all your coparenting communications. Over time, the documented history can demonstrate consistent and organized communication from your side.
Keep Detailed Records: Use the app to document not just communications but also agreements, disagreements, visitation schedules, and expenses. These records can be crucial during legal or mediation processes.
